Tach question for Mercury 650

Hey, I have a 1975 Mercury 650, S/N 4268023, and am wondering which tachs work with it? Does it have to be a Mercury tach, or do VDO or other universal ones work too? What pole setting do I need for it? I'm assuming I can just hook it to the front of my Mercontrol box...

you can use a vdo ro whatever, teleflex, or merc, whataever.<br /><br />yes, they plug into your control box if you have the harness.<br /><br />im not sure about what pole settings you have, but teleflex's website has this info for you
