tach rewire question

hi everyone
i have a 1983 175 evin
my tach is wired thru control ,i need to move the wireing direct
to motor because of damage to connector at controls
tell me if this is right ,grey wire to grey at rectifyer
ign wire to key only hot at selinoid and ground to battery ground
if not right please give some input

anyone that can help me bypass connector on controls
is it gray to yellow grey .ground to system ground
and red to key only source

Gray from S on tach to terminal block yellow gray.

- Black ground from ignition switch, small M.
+ Purple from ignition switch accessory A.
Lights from blue gauge lighting block wire.

Don't work on that with the battery connected. Any voltage riding the gray wire will kill the rectifier and possibly damage the stator.
