Tach

I have a older tach. Its a Faria tach 6000rpm's. I have a 1980 75 hp outbord 12 pole. Will this tach work with it??

If you want a cheap known tach or if you want to compare i found this on ebay and bought one but guess what i need a 20 pole and i was not sure until i bought the 12pole....... ebay user is very helpful.......

Since that tach only goes to 6000 RPM it is most likely for an I/O. Outboard tachsgoe to 7000 RPM and there will be a place on the back to set it to the number of pulses. In your case it would be set to 6P.

ya it does switch to 6

FYI, my Faria 8,000 rpm tach sets at 4 for 20 pole operation.

Please, if you will; 1st what model faria and 2nd where did you buy and for how much? Any insight would be great..
