I changed out boards from a 1987 Johnson 225 to a 200 1996 johnson,but the tach is not working. when I power up the tach moves but I can't get any RPMS it stays at zero.
Any recommendations.
Did you get a complete wiring harness for your '96 or did you use adapters to use your old boat harness? '96 had system check. If all the wiring is correct you may have a charging system proplem.
