So I bought a Teleflex tach for my 1994 Bayliner Capri 1604, which has the original Force 70hp. Installation instructions say to connect the sending wire to any yellow wire. I do not have a block that I can connect to, or if I do, I don't see it anywhere. Do they really mean any yellow wire, anywhere? How do you splice into the wire? Cut, or just remove insulation? This has become a more confusing task then I expected...

Hi Beefer,

I think judging from the instructions I've seen on the Teleflex website, yellow may not apply. The wiring diagram I have for my 70hp Force, shows the tach signal is sent from the rectifier on the grey wire. Tracing it to and from the terminal block in the engine should show you what colour wire will be at your dash. In the diagram I have, its purple or grey.

Hope that helps!
