My BE40ELCR and OMC control box. I purchased original OMC Tacho and with advise from here connected it and ran engine yesterday, Tacho has original loom with plug in to control box, 2 prongs inside, question is this, Tacho runs only when I hold the end of plug at certain angles (bad connection) I have lightly cleaned the prongs inside the Tach plug and wonder how to clean the box end or should I dismantle it and remove whatever is inside, any advise please, Lurcher.

Contact cleaner and a small brush is all that's necessary. No need to disassemble the box.

I have a question - regarding instruments - I have a 1998 26' Chaparral 260 signature. My instruments work only when they want to and sometimes not at all. This is so frustrating. Can you help me - thanks debi east haddam, CT
