i have a 1999 bayliner capri, and the tac stopped working , appears to have power at the dash unit and the ground is good, it was working last year and is now stuck on about 1000 rpm. any suggestions for repair?

I'm sorry but,,,,does a "tacometer" tell you how good the "taco's" are?

With the key off a tach normally sits on 1000 RPMs. When to key is turned on it goes to 0 RPMs and stays there until you turn the key off or start the motor. If you are sure the voltage and ground is good then it appears that you have a bad tach.
