Thinking of buying one, are they really ideal for fishing as well as crusin and water skiing? Would like to hear people opinions who have actually owned one.

What model Tahoe is "ideal for fishing" ??

In this order, I would say the Crestliner 1850 Super Hawk is ideal for:
#1 Fishing
#2 Cruising
#3 Water sports

Much more so than any Tahoe.

Re: Tahoe Boats, any good?

I own a 2010 Tahoe 215 cc. I had them upgrade the motor to a 200 opti as opposed to a 150 for obvious reasons...you can never have too much power right? :)

My family and I fish, water ski/tube/knee board, and pleasure cruise and I am just nuts about the versatility of the boat (but of course I'm partial, right).

Tahoe has been labeled as a bad company with poor service and even poor fit/finish on their rigs. I am here to say that I have had the boat for over 2 years and have had only minor problems which were promptly addressed by the service team at Bass Pro. Since the warranty has run out over a year ago, I have had zero issues with the boat or motor.

I take good care of the boat and she takes care of me.

I have looked at several Tahoes around the marina, I think they look great for a value priced boat.
I have never met anyone who regretted purchasing one, except for one guy who was talked into the 3.0L Mercruiser.

Are you looking for an outboard or sterndrive?

Yes; Tahoe boats are as "good" as anybody else's boats.

Get yourself one of these, and it'll do everything you need. Q5-SF_img20750_300.jpg

I'm certainly not a fan of Tahoe but i've got lots of friends that have them. I almost never fish but if I did, and I wanted to do it off a bowrider, I'd look at them. In the budget level of boats, I think they are hands down the most boat for the money. Also, there seems to be a bit of a difference between the earlier ones and the newer ones quality and complaint wise.

I love my Tahoe and haven't had any trouble with it except a lack of airflow in the engine compartment that causes a vapor lock in hot weather that is solved by opening the deck while stopped.

I don't think you can get vapor lock with an MPI engine.

I have never met anyone with one of these boats that didn't love it.

I bought a new 2011 Tahoe 216WT with a Mercruiser 5.0 MPI in it and it works great. We liked all of the storage it had and "NO" carpet to get wet and nasty. It makes a decent wake for wakeboarding and came with a nice bimini top. The top is large enough to go over the top of the wakeboard tower.
