This is really neat. Take a good look at the boats they used, first appearing in the video around 2:11. Many, including some on here, have asked about the provenance of the jon boat. No one is prepared to say definitively, but most agree that's what it originally looked like. Enjoy.

That is a great movie.

I've been on two float trips in the Missouri Ozarks, Current and Jacks Fork rivers. It is an experience you'll never forget.

Thanks to whoever moved it. Wasn't sure which section was appropriate. Deck Swabber, don't know how well you know that area, but there's a spot on the White between Calico Rock and Mountain View called Boswell Shoals. There's primitive camping and a four wheel drive boat ramp. The preferred method is to motor up and drift back down until you get tired of catching them, then beach your boat at camp. Been going there for thirty years, and aside from some trees placed in a campsite by the hundred year flood a couple of years ago it hasn't changed a bit. Magical place.

I really enjoyed that movie. I can actually remember some of those places. I have floated about all the rivers here in mo. The white has always been a fave.

Another great river to float and fish is the Spring river. My sister and her family Live in Williford Ark. We like to float and fish the section between Hardy and Williford. My Nephews own a big 12 acre island in Williford Its great fun to camp on the island after a great day on the river. Spring river is great to float, fish and boat on but can be a mighty chilly swim. :D

Grew up in Jonesboro, so I've spent more hours than I can count on the Spring. I went back up there last summer for a weekend and am sorry to say conditions on the river have deteriorated as much as I had heard. I don't judge folks, but that's definitely not my cup of tea, and some of those young men and women are doing things they'll regret when they get older. Pretty sad, although I don't think that's really a problem on the stretch you float. I've spent some time on the South Fork in the last couple of years and have really come to love it. Great fishing and a beautiful and quiet float.
