With the vote today in the House it is plain to see that the tide of war is going against the US.

Our own elected leaders are against this county winning the war on terror, they think a withdrawal is in the best interest of this country.

I'd like to submit this book as required reading for survival in the coming years.

It's old, written by Cresson H. Kearny... Nuclear war survival skills. biography

Don't get me wrong, I still have hope, but the tide has turned and it's time to look at reality again.

This is the best book for expedient solutions for the world we may just have to live through in the not to distant future,,,, again.

I thought with the fall of the USSR I could file that book.... silly me.

You mean like christianity?

Blame this mess on God. He's the one who told G.W. to invade Iraq. He said it himself.

I too think a nuke on American soil is inevetible. Every weapon is eventually turned on it's creator.

What I don't expect is widespread nukes on multiple cities, at least not on a large scale. Maybe a few. Probably port cities, probably coordinated. But I'd think their primary target would be Israel and they only have so many (few) nukes to work with.

Look at it tactically. Once the few they have or could get are spent, then what? They're done. They have nothing left. The wrath of the planet is now aimed at them. Nothing will save them. Nukes from us wouldn't even be necessary. We'd have them wiped out in a conventional full-scale war in a matter of weeks if not days and Russia and China will just stand back and wait for the dust to settle. They know that.

Re: Take it as you will....

In Korea, we used to train for the inevitable North Korean chemical weapon deployment. We also trained for the resulting deployment of our onw nuclear weapons against N. Korea. Guess I'll have to dust off those skills again. Time to go build that bomb shelter...

I think Willy is correct, our entire country is not going to be anhilated by nukes. There will most likely be a crude small nuke in one of the major cities. This is something that can happen no matter how much money and time we send in Iraq. I find it hard to believe that what is happening in Iraq would, or could deter a small determined group of people from building a crude nuke and getting it through our pourous borders and into one of our cities.

I believe this will happen in spite of our efforts in Iraq. Not because I want it to, or because I want failure in Iraq, I just can't allow myself to think for even one second that every single terrorist is in Iraq. I find it very likely that while we are busy in Iraq, there are plans being made, and those plans will be executed. Really, in the end, terrorism is a law enforcement issue, not a military issue. You look at the succesful halting of terrorist plots abroad, most have been stopped by law enforcement, not us killing insurgent after insurgent in Iraq.

I believe that the success we have in Iraq will benefit Iraq and the middle east, but I also belive in the overall big picture of global terrorism that Iraq is a small cog in a very large gear. We need to finish Iraq succesfully, whatever that will take, and get back to the task of dealing with global terrorism..

No idiot with a nuke would make the country they plan on conquering radioactive for a millennia.
Nosir.. The proven weapons of choice will be biological and chemical, in addition to conventional explosives and comandeered civialian aircraft, busses , trucks, ships, and drive-by shootings, as the drive by's roll tape.

Yup.. I predict they will bring us to our kness by placing little extras in our peanut butter, coupled with crippling litigation against the producers, pranging busses into power plants, spraying our fields with chemical poisons, and planting EIDs in sports arenas and shopping malls.Said shopping malls would then become too dangerous to patronise, as will NASCAR races.

A werk force home from werk sick from eating their PBJ's along with employers placed out of buisness by injury lawsuits will end capitalism as we know it.
These appocolyptic views are my own .. Don't need any book to know that the enemy is winning from within our very own congress and courts.
They are the front line to the facilitation of enemy goals.
Get ready to "praise ala" , and die anyhow.Of course, this will take a little more time than it took Jimma Carter to bring down our economy, and they can't afford to spark the wrath of the average armed American in the hood, so they must dissarm , or inlist them all first. They already have the majority of law makers/lawyers/judges allied with them. But there are too many Pointers, 12Footers and p-ditties in da hood to combat right now.... give them more time.

OK, Eric. You hooked this tired old fish struggling up stream for his last spawning. What is a CTT manual?

If you are let me 'splain something to you. If I get made into bear patty plainsman can still tell what a CTT manual is and you will only be out another friend, which I am thinking is not an uncommon occurrence in your case. ;)

I think by now the CTT is embedded in our brains.... and I doubt where I live that a shelter will be needed. Now if I lived near a target area I would be more active in my planning.

Oh God I had forgotten about that green bastard.

Techno, if I remember rightly, it stood for Combat Tactical (or Technical?) Training or something along those lines. Been LONG time, although I can visualize the little camo'ed thing we all had to read over and over...

I do fondly remember spending all that time in NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) school in Korea. Nothin' says love like a blister agent...

Re: Take it as you will....

With all this doomsday talk I guess I had better brush up on my ABC,S, [Ray] that stands for atomic, biological ,chemical warfare. Also better get a crank radio and tune it to the Art Bell radio show. Maybe I’d better order about fifty pounds of dry beans while im at it. Wouldn’t hurt to order another twenty-five pounds of powdered milk for the bunker also. Hmm, better drill another well, never know when the water might get contaminated with all this bad stuff, and wonder if five hundred feet will be deep enough? I think ill check out E-bay, maybe I can pick up a cheap wind mill, gota have some power to get that water up from a five hundred foot well don’tca ya know.Guess maybe id better lay up a few hundred more rounds of ammo, in case some starving people start storming the barricades.:%

Ya got a well-fortified bunker Omer????

You should have seen a friend of mine, at the turn of the century, he had a half ton pick-up truck loaded to the hilt, heading for the hills, with all the survival gear you could think of. He bought into that scare that he heard on Art Bells radio program, I still ask him for beans whenever I see him. Hhmm wonder why he is dodging me, maybe I had better stop asking him for beans,ya think?Naaa its to much fun.
