How do I get to the toggle switch to replace
Trim up does not work...Tried jumping the 2 black wires coming in from the transom, button still did not work at handle on up trim.

I see a screw in round lower part that goes into bulkhead. It has a white cap over it.
It would seem the top of the handle would come apart to access toggle switch
Dont want to break something

Thanks
Gerry

Your problem may not be the switch. It could be a bad up solenoid which if you are DIYr can be R&Rd.

There should be a large screw under the cap located at the bottom of the shifter handle. Pop the plastic cap off with a blade of some sort. Should just pop off exposing the large philips screw. Remove the screw and the handle should come away from the mounting. Sometimes there is a plastic cover plate that covers the mounting plate. With the handle lose from the mounting you should be able to gain access to the switch. You will probably need to feed some of the wire up the handle to gain some wiggle room to replace the switch.

Might be helpful to know what type of trim pump you have.
