Recently picked up old 76 starcraft that was sitting on some private property for years at freinds place.pretty much stripped of interior.

Going to install new tank but not sure where origional was located.had square mounted behind rear port side but can tell not orig.
Looks like there was a filler mounted on front bow port side and a copper line running in a plastic tube assume for fuel supply and a second plastic line to rear assume for vent, but would think vent would have been by filler to indicate full when refueling.

Also filler mount was presant at rear.

Found moeller belly style tank that would fit under new floor but would it be better in front or rear.

Concern is if origanal was up front for balance purposes than installing in rear might cause problems.new tank is 29 gal.

Boat is closed bow
new motor going back in is merc. 120

first time posting like site

Re: Tank location

I would move it as far forward as I could. Those closed bows could always use a little more weight up front.

Welcome to iboats! You've stumbled upon probably the largest group of Starcraft enthusiasts on the net! Be sure to check in down in the Starcraft section of this site.

Re: Tank location

My closed bow has a 30ish gal tank right up in the bow behind the foot rest. It sits above the stringers (large cube shaped tank). I have no idea about your boat layout though.
