Tapping larger leg vent oil hole

Has anyone ever tried or thought about making a larger lower unit leg vent hole so it can easily be filled from the top? Am i silly or am I on to something?

you would still end up with air pockets. fill from the bottom and go boating. takes only 3 mintues

Trying to fill from the top is a mistake.----Because you simply do not know when it is full and all the air is out.

Let's try logic on for size. If this were a good idea, don't you think the factory would have thought about it? There is a reason the unit is filled from the bottom as was just explained.

Rapair/CDI had a sensor years ago to let you know if you had water in gear oil...great idea but wasn't worth the cost as screwdriver was cheaper.....

Actually, I am a documented genius, but last I checked, the engineers didn't always get it right the first time. Thought I'd ask.......... Went well!!
