tarp to block uv rays?

I really want to get some sanding done on my boat. its going to be another month or so before it gets warm enough to fiberglass. I would like to get the gel coat knocked off the interior and down to bare glass, my dilemma is I don't want it to sit out in the sun and ruin the fiberglass so will a tarp be sufficient to do this? it will only be for a month or so, month and half tops.

Yes a tarp will do fine to block the rays and the gel coat will not be that affected in a short time.

i'm getting rid of the gel coat. i'm taking the interior down to bare glass for some restoration work. i'm just making sure the bare glass wont be effected by the sun with the tarp over it
