Tarpon Fishing Invite

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site. I live in Homosassa, Florida, which is on the west coast less than 90 minutes north of Tampa. Homosassa is known as the Tarpon capital of Florida. From June on the Tarpon fishing is excellent. If anyone gets down this way from June to September and wants to do some Tarpon fishing, I"M NOT A GUIDE LOOKING FOR CHARTERS, let me know. I have a 16 foot boat I fish out of and can take 1 or 2 people. I'm retired and can fish almost anytime. Let me know. The grandkids will be here the month of July. Hi Jake, and welcome to iboats. LF & I may be getting down your way late in the summer. If we do we'll give you a call and maybe hook up. We would probably bring our boat but if not we'll pay our share for sure. I've always wanted to hook into a tarpon. We get them here but for only a short time and you really have to know what you are doing to catch one. Be forewarned though, everytime LF gets a fish on the line she gets excited and starts yelling, it's enough to scare the bejabbers out of someone who isn't prepared for it.

Mr. Ladyfish<br /><br />I'd be happy to hook up with you and your wife and catch a few Tarpon. Where are you coming from? I've been living in Florida 3 years and came from New Jersey after I retired. My wife and I love it here.<br /><br />When do you think your coming this way? The last week of June we'll be in New Jersey picking up the grandkids. <br /><br />I fish out of a 2003 Aluminum Side Console Smoker Craft with a 2003 90 horse Yamaha 4 Stroke. It's just the right size for where I fish for Tarpon.

Jake, we'd be coming from Galveston, Tx. Don't really have a good handle on when except it wouldn't be until Aug. or Sept. My sister & bro-in-law are moving down there from Ithaca, NY. this summer but the date isn't been completely settled yet. I'll give you lots of notice as soon as they let me know.

Hi Jake,<br /><br />The wife and I like to bring the boat and camp at Natures Resort on the Halls River. Do you Tarpon fish anywhere near there? If so, any tips for a guy who would love to hook up with a silver king but isn't quite sure how to go about it?<br /><br />Thanks <br /><br />Dave
