she actually had just raised her head, and has a mouth full of food. the hair has been like that since i got her. can not get it to lay down. i think that is one reason she scares so many people. there was no food aggression.

Re: Tasha adopted a new friend.

Least she is taking to it well. Whenever we bring another one home, they won't look at us or the new animal for a week. Then, there is the friends yellow lab who used to stay with us about half the time, before she finally died (I am amazed she lived as long as she did, in the condition she was in - sweetest dog ever though). Our dogs couldn't stand the fact that she would come and go, and would ignore us the whole time she was here.

It's good that Damon went to a good home.
One neighbor has German Shepherds. He's into 'em big time. He said that a little rib showing is ideal. Personally, I like Tasha's build better.

We've been without a "best freind" for several years now. It would not be fair to another pooch as we are not home enough. We sure do miss our mutts and Lab's. All had a great lives and YES they were welcome on the couch.;) The lab's even had their own pool!

It lools like my son has just, unofficially, adopted a Chihuahua that showed up at his shop. A pup, scared to death, wet, cold and malnurished. About four pounds at eight months. Poor thing.:(

She is very wary but seems to be coming around. I'd like to kick the #$% of the previous owner.

Why people treat dogs that way is beyond me. I guess I shouldn't wonder, we don't treat each other much better.

My cousin who lives across the road got a German shepard (supposed to be full blooded) looks full blooded. His German Shepard is a pretty dog. He only had it a month or month and a half or so. Just the other day she wondered off to a neighbors house up the road and the neighbor shot the dog in the leg.

The neighbor who did the shooting came down and apologized, said he was only trying to scare the dog off because it was bothering his pony (which had a hurt leg), he even gave my cousin money towards the vet bill. We heard the gun shot and the dog yelping thought she was dead for a moment, but the dog showed up with her leg held up and dangling around she came over to us and layed right at my father's feet. We called my cousin up (he was hunting out back), he came down, and we took her to his house. She was coming into heat and was out on the prowl.

A heck of a note, just getting a new dog, getting close to christmas, and here he's already hurting for money then he has to pay out the nose in vet bills. The dog's leg will never be right again, it will be stiff.

At least my cat will enjoy going outside without his dog being around, we're trying to stop her from going after the cat.

Re: Tasha adopted a new friend.

Two dogs is better than one. my daughter (16) got herself a dog (I mean, we got her a dog), a West Highland Terrier named Scout -- man, does he worship Dusty. It's only a problem when we go fishing -- I'm not up to taking two dogs, and Scout throws a fit that pretty much keeps the whole house awake for hours -- not a good thing at 0530 Saturday.

To get Dusty's attention, Scout makes a running leap and grabs his ears -- it's hi-larious.

Re: Tasha adopted a new friend.

atleast the guy came forward and offered to help. i still believe, even in the woods, you are responsible for your dog, and where he is.

good looking dogs.
