ok i have a 01 25 johnson on my duck boat we run alot of shallow water and my fitting in my block where the tattle tale hose hooks will stop up with the tinyest piece of trash i am also hard on the little grates on the side of the foot. my question is if i change the size of the nipple and the hose (threaded part is 3/8 the nipple is 1/4) to like a 3/8 nipple and hose would this affect my cooling. or maybe someone has another suggestion. please help

Re: tattle tale help

Install a jackplate to raise the motor higher which will raise the lower unit up. Can you post a side pic of the transom/motor setup with the motor down?

i will try to post picks i have a cmc tilt and trim on the boat it is mounted as high as you can mount it and it not cavitate, the cavitation plate is about an inch above the top of the boat. we run alot of water knee deep and sometimes less through the timber to duck hunt this churns up alot of like fine leaf debris.

Agree with the electric troller or air cooled kicker. You are going through waters that do not suit a water cooled motor.
