Very nice work there and no better man in my opinion to honor. I can't afford large pieces so I got a smaller one with the wings.

Im close friends with my tattooist, so I get a discounted price.

nice work BTW. once in a while I run in to someone with a similar tattoo. nothing is ever said, just a nod and a smile.

Get whatever you want, then get some text in latin or ancient greek, a saying that ring's with you.....
And never tell anybody what it means.... that's what makes it special..

Great artwork on the indian larry. That's fantastic work.

Just remember, if you are going to get a tat, make sure it is something that will look cool when you skin is 70 plus years old and leathery and sagging with wrinkles...

Re: Tattoo ideas??

I have a few tattoos. One is in memorial of my son that died at age 7. It's on my chest close to my heart.

The other is just as special to me and has a bit of a story also. I too hate to wear jewelry. When I got married, I wore my wedding ring for about a year, then couldn't tolerate it anymore. I was also worried that since I work with my hands all the time, it was going to cause an injury or even finger loss eventually. My wife was offended and it caused some arguments, but I held strong and refused to wear it. She kept telling me how it's a symbol of out commitment. I told her that I agree, but it's still just a symbol. True commitment comes from the head and heart.

About 2 years ago, we reached an agreement. We would get metching tattoos. We chose the right foot that could be covered easily (we're both "professionals"), and chose a tribal design sea turtle. To us it stands for longevity and "slow and steady wins the race"

A friend of mine was at ground zero during 9/11. He was a rescue worker. A few months after 9/11 he got a beautiful tattoo of the twin towers under attack. He tells me constantly that he regrets it every day because now it forces him to relive it everytime he looks in the mirror.

There are some amazing tattoos out there, but also some real duds. I will eventually get more I'm sure, but they won't be public ones, nor will they be lacking meaning. I'm willing to wait until a major life event needs to be memorialized and even then I'll give it tons of thought before doing it.

I've attached one of the worst tattoos I've ever seen just to lighten the mood. The theme is sad, but the tattoo is horrible.

Chuck

That tat is a disgrace. That's the other thing a person needs to do, FIND A GOOOOOD ARTIST! Whoever did the one on Shizzy definitely did a good job, whoever did that last one should be stoned. Horrible. You'll pay more for a good artist but it's the same old saying "you get what you pay for".

As for Indian Larry zach... the Biker Build Off series on Discovery channel is where you've probably seen him.

The turtle idea instead of wearing a ring is a fantastic idea getinmerry. I actually think that would be an awesome part of a wedding ceremony too especially because nothing about mine, when/if it happens is going to be "standard". Something I'm going to ponder now.

You could always try a number on the inside of your wrist. Pick one with meaning, a past human being to honor their life. And to make sure it never happens again.

The only "tatoo" I have is my smallpox vacinnation scar on my upper left arm.
My generation did this to ensure that all others would never suffer from this disease.
I had no choice in the matter. We were lined up like cattle and got the vacinnation. That was way back when the "government knew what was correct for the populace." Heil.

Re: Tattoo ideas??

As you know yourself it all depends on the reason why? I got this one after my divorce. Some say drastic but I never have had a regret yet.

8 hours and $3,400.00 later. It took us about 10 hours to draw and do the template.

That is probably the only reason I would get a tattoo. If I lost a child, I would always want to have them near.

That has got to be one of the worst tattoos I have seen. That tattoo "artist" needs to have their head handed to them. But that is the risk of getting inked. What a mess.

Re: Tattoo ideas??

I have a lot of tattoos don't regret any of em but probably wont get any more, all my ink came from when I was in the Army and didn't have to worry about getting a job or what not but now it just seems like there's better things to spend money on... A friend of mine is a tattoo artiest and hes on the cheap side at 200 for 3 hours where others charge 150 an hour and I know one guy that wont turn his gun on for less then a 1000.....
