Do away with withholdings and let folks see what their tax bill is at the end of the year.

I see how much we pay in taxes every year when we file the 1040.

It certainly would wake people up though if the yearly taxes had to be paid all at once per year.

How many of you that get paychecks actually look at what is deducted each time and compare it to what you owe the previous year? Its very easy to adjust your witholdings along the way to come out to the desired total tax withheld. When the end of March comes along, multiply by 4 and compare that to the total owed the year before. If it is off, and assuming you make around the same amount of money, make some adjustments.

This isn't rocket science!

What really bugs me is the people who pay the high taxes receive and use the least government services. That is just backwards.

Yes 100% Agree on this I pay for what ? I ask this question everyday being a business owner who pays two cities, a county, state & the KGB. If we add up all taxes not just the KGBs it would shock allot of us I know it did me when I did once.

Agreed. My wife owns a company she started from scratch, herself with a telephone and zero dollars in her twenties. Fast forward to today and the tax checks she writes out would be shocking to many. We don't actually want anything from the government. Then to see the sheer waste and duplication is frustrating.
