Hey Bob

What are you offering? Do you have the whole boat redone all the wood and when? Being 34 years old, Just look how nice GWPSR's boat looked on day one he almost scratched the whole thing, I would have my concerns. I will be bringing my boat home in a week then I will do an assessment of it. I got my boat and plan on working on it for a few years, then have a new boat that I know inside and out.

Hi T,

My boat has not been restored at all. Just taken care of. I just cleaned her up on the outside and launched her yesterday and now that she is comfortably floating in a slip I will clean up the inside. She has been sitting at my house over a year cause I am not comfortable with the trailer as it sits to use it often. Anyway I am going to polish out the interior today and put her up for sale. I put $300 of fuel in her so I can have a little fun in between sea trials. Once the inside is clean I will post pics. Anyway I get what you are doing and it sounds good to me. Most people have ideas like yours but never follow through do to time/money issues. It is nice to see people on this site actually following through with such nice results.

Anyway, my boat has no rot and everything works except the 110 volt stove. (alcohol stove is functional). The ac/dc fridge didn't work so I threw in a regular 110 only mini fridge for now. I have the pressurized water system with 110 water heater and a porta pottie set up. The best feature of this boat is the twin engines. They are factory equipment with about 1000 hours on them. If I was going to keep this boat for myself I would pull these engines out just to clean them up and replace a few hoses gaskets and seals and put them back. It is a pain to work on them in the boat mostly cause I am 6'4" and 300 lbs.

We added some supports you can see in one of the pictures then realized when we got it home we really did not need to work on it as hard as we did but always better to be safe than sorry. I can finally get started woo hoo!!! My wife doesn't want the neighbors to see the name so when I get home from work I will cover it. What is a good paint stripper that is safe for fiberglass?

Wow T, what did you pull her home with? Was that a compact pickup? I posted mine on Craigslist San Diego for $7800 and have someone coming to look at it this week but who knows. There is a fairly narrow market for large boats like this as most people don't have space for them or a large enough tow vehicle or the confidence to operate them. They are a great boat though for the right people. I am about done cleaning her up and have been out a few times since a week ago Saturday when I launched her. My kids want to spend the night on her this week when they get out of school. We have a ton of fun just catching little fish in the slip but I plan of hitting the kelp beds very soon if it doesn't' sell right away. Here is the link to it. 28' TWIN ENGINE CABIN CRUISER

WM Barr's product info says not to use KS-3 on fiberglass. They recommend their Klean-Strip? Aircraft Fiberglass Paint Stripper instead.
Thanks GWPSR, it actually rained yesterday so didnt get into the boat but i will today

Last Night I got in there and started to look for damage In the rear cabin there was a soft spot and same area that GWPSR's boat had its water heater there is some damage. Tonight i start removing the cabinetry and get down to the floor. I have carpet to remove also

The damage by the front does not seem as bad as yours GWPSR the transom seems to look in pretty good shape but i will be doing some drilling to really find out once I get out the engine and outdrive. A friend of mine came by just after I got it home. Timing is everything,he told me he had a new motor 350 chevy he would sell to me I showed him my motor he said the marine parts should fit right on and that it looked exactly the same. It was from a motor home that caught fire just shortly after the guy replaced the motor and trans. Then my friend bought it from him. I'll have some pictures tomorrow of some cabin shots from what I find out tonight

You lucky duck! I'm not ready for the new engine yet, but have begun to scout out places. Not a lot of sources around me. There are some 'auto recycling' places in the next county I could go check.

Yeah I'm not even close to needing the motor. I had kind of turned down the offer Sunday when I got home. Then thought about it the last couple of days. Well my friend was out of town the last couple of days. I saw him yesterday and told him I was interested. He gave me some details the motor actually has never been started it was a crate motor. I will be going over there later this week to check it out. I finally started the tear down
