Ok I have the number for my out drive from the tag that is on the outside right below the circle with two Allen head bolts
the tag reads

DP-C 1,95
NO 3102126893 I looked in the engine compartment only saw number on the linkage for the shifting and throttle


I'll try the number in the volvo link from Z but any info from you guys would help thanks

The DP-C is your drive type, the 1.95 is likely the lower unit v8 ratio for a duoprop...the other series of numbers is most likely the serial number, which wont work in the link, its just for part numbers...i dont know how to decode that for year built.

Maybe emailing the number to volvo penta and see if someone there can cross it, or maybe the gurus in the VP forum...

Thanks Kernall welcome to dry dock you should check out 1981 Bayliner Victoria 2750 GWPSR has got a head start on his boat I will be using his design. we have the same boat just three years apart but its going to be fun. This is a good place for anything boat, the guys here are great!!! Welcome aboard.

Well it looks like my boat is sold. Working out the final details and the sea trial over the next few days. I will refer the new owner to this site and particularly this thread. Lots of great info here. Good luck guys... I will be watching.

I'm getting ready to move my boat down to my shop for the winter. GWPSR if at all possible could you add your design of your stringers/ bulkheads all the way from stern to bow for my future reconstruction thanks for everything your doing. This weekend I'm going to look at a outboard motor for sale for my 14' bayliner capri, so I can at least get out in the water like gwpjr in between boat restoration. I learned that in order to be sane you need at least one working boat to help you dream about the one your restoring.:eagerness:

Never a bad idea to name the boat after the admiral...then they want it to look its best..so you can grow the budget some

Howdy TBoner,
Been watching and following along from afar...just been getting all caught up with what you got going on...
That is a nice looking hull to bring back to life...looks like a nice weekender for the Family to enjoy.
You and GWPSR have the same Vintage Bayliners...
According to my neighbor, who used to work for Bertram yachts down here in Miami, and owned a slightly newer Bayliner for many years, has always commented that the Bayliners from the era before Brunswick bought them out, circa 1986-7...were of a much better build quality than the time afterwards...Back then they were still in the pricey category and considered a good buy for the money...then they got into the Miami Vice wanna be boat builders on a budget and their build quality suffered...to their credit, though, they were one of the pioneers of the package deal which included everything the first time boat owner needed to get in the water, NOW! and they did make boating way more affordable for the average Joe...
They have since made a concerted effort to build better quality products...
The greatest advantage to those older hulls is the incredible thickness of the glass lamination they put into the entire build...on my neighbors Bay, he showed me a couple of places where the lams were in the neighborhood of 3/8" thick...that's a lotta glass...
Anyhow, just wanted to ask permission to come aboard and enjoy this build as you progress through the removal of all of the muck and filth and get ever closer and closer to re-creating a beauty of a boat.
