Agreed! Emphasis on patience and no yelling. Especially if/when she backs into something or does something that you feel should be common sense. We were all newbies at one point.

It took 2 times driving the boat before my wife stopped hitting the dock now she is getting better every time just let her keep trying it "her way".Then u can sit back and enjoy the ride.

[/IMG]My wife asked me to help her figure out what was wrong with her fish aquarium pump, she had just bought it new and said it doesn't work, I couldn't hardly believe my eyes when I saw that poor pump laying at the bottom of her little goldfish tank and plugged in too!
I love her though dangerous but cute as a button, heck one day at ramps I told her to hold the bow rope while I park the truck, when I got back there she was talking to some other chick on the dock still holding that rope but the boat had been blown up against the shoreline right beside her, all my fault I did not get mad just dealt with it. We've been married for 25yrs and I gave up long ago trying to teach her to do anything like that, she don't even know how to mow the lawn, but she's a good cook great mother to the kids keeps the house nice and intelectually alot smarter than me. All I can say about teaching your wife to drive the boat is if She is anything like my Dianna give up while your still alive.
Here She is, got a stone stuck in her shoe!

Re: Teaching The Wife

the only trailer I have is the one with the boat on it, and my local lake doesn't really have a place to launch the boat, tie it up and let her take the empty trailer back up to practice, so it looks like all practicing will be done with "live ammunition". Oh well, I have faith in her, and as long as she keeps it slow, I don't foresee any problems.
Thanks again,

that works out better anyway, imo. if you practice without the boat, it will be harder to back the trailer when the boat is there.
