I always wanted to try living in a house with no TV, no internet, no modern distractions. Kinda like living in a mountain cabin. I would probally read a lot more, and just generally be smarter. Instead i am just rotting my brain online and on TV.

But you will never read if you can just watch TV.

Well, one thing I've learned...I'm paying too much for my landline. Time to shop for cell phones for me and the missus.

I am a web developer by trade, so inet is pretty required, although I would likely keep it around even if I had an option as you can learn just about anything online. When was the last time you hauled out your encyclopedia set (do you even still own one)? .. exactly!

As for television, we haven't looked at a television in about 7 years. It has been a long time since I quit watching an advertising box, but I still rememeber thinking to myself "How am I going to fill all of this time?!" when I first stopped. Nowadays it makes me pity those who willing to give up so much of their only life. The average American spends 5 hours per day watching a television. 150 hours per month! That's enough time to rebuild a boat, EVERY MONTH.

No matter how much or how little money you spend to stare at a television every day of every year, you are losing 50 times that amount in time lost from your life, and that is only including the parts you can put a dollar value on..
