Re: tecumseh 7.5 hp any info ? parts?

Most likely that is an Eska Built for Sears. It uses a Tecumseh air cooled Powerhead with a water cooled exhaust leg.I believe the model number will begin with 225 58xxxx.Certified parts corp may have parts Seems I recall Discount Marine as well.Do a search on the forum for Eska parts.
The Eska is an inexpensive entrance into outboarding.Unfortunately their reputation is a little weak.Noisy,vibrate,underpowered,unreliable.On the plus side power head parts may be available at a small engine shop, they are reasonsably light.

I have 2 user's manuals. One for a 1975 7.5 Eska, and another for a (I think) 1978 Gamefisher. They are both made by Eska. Since the manuals were falling apart, I scanned them. I can send you a copy if you like. I'd prefer to get the model number from you. If it's a Gamefisher, it's likely green and white, and has a model number that starts with 217. If it's an Eska, it's likely blue and white. The manuals I have are for a 1976a Eska, and 217.585840 Gamefisher.

Re: tecumseh 7.5 hp any info ? parts?

Just read your post on Re: tecumseh 7.5 hp any infor? parts?.....I was given a used Gamefisher 7.5 (as shown on cover). Can't find Serial Number or Model Number. Can you tell me where to find them???. Did record the following from side plate: "640-18 Tecumseh 8019". I am looking for a copy of the repair or maint. manual for this motor. Can you provide one?

Thanks.....BigBass

I found a link that has some parts and that is about as far as I have gotten myself.

Try :http://www.smalloutboards.com/g7579.htm
then click on Gamefisher 7.5 Parts
then enter the model #
there should be a list of availible parts
hope this helps get u closer

I also have a 7.5 Gamefisher that I am working on that has the Tecumseh powerhead. I will be subscribing to this thread to see where the good places to go for parts are. I will also post back if I find a good place.

Hello WINMAN99.....

I hope you are still in the Form. I see last response was in Aug. 07. If your still active, would like to see if I could obtain a copy of the 7.5 Gamefisher manual. I am still trying to find the location for the Model and Serial numbers. Hope anyone can provide the locations.

Also, to GreenF350....welcome Aaron. Sure hope you can help me and appriciate the input from MARTIN62. Will be looking at his Web link today.

Thanks guys,

Re: tecumseh 7.5 hp any info ? parts?

Hello Martin62....Have gone into the www.smallboats link you provided and found the pictures provided by the seller of the 7.t Gamefisher motor. It is exactly like the one we have. Also, clicked on the Sears link and printed off the Parts manual with exploded views. Have started breaking down the motor. The compression is good, but have to rebuild the carb. Also, previous owner did not flush out the gas, so it's bad and will have to replace fuel lines and flush out the tank. Have no idea how the water pump is yet. Will let you know more as we proceed.

Martin62 - Any chance I can get a copy of your manual ?
The Sears link is now dead.
Mine is a 7.5HP Ted Williams Sears 217/58588-0
With a Techumseh 640-13 block.
These Eska, Gamefisher, water cooled exhaust gland nut access is a true puzzle.
Another is how the external fuel tank worked without a fuel pump?

I can't help with much else, I sold my gamefisher, but there is a small fuel pump in the carburetor body. One mystery solved, hopefully someone else will help with the other ones.

Is anyone still around? This is a good thread for me, I am rebuilding a Sears Gamefisher 5 hp with Tecumseh power head. I'll post the serial number later.
