Ted Williams 4.5 hp 21759463

can anyone tell me the tuning specs for this motor fuel ratio, plug gap, point gap, float settings.
the engine does run but hard time getting it to run, running it 40:1 ratio put new carb kit and duck bill pump @ a 45 set the carb with 11/32 drill bit any help would be great.

what kind of motor? is it an Eska? I have the repair manuals for different gamefishers in PDF format I can email you if you want it.

The model# I ran it and it came back eska which they built a bunch of motors for different companies. sears gamefisher, ted williams etc. Had one it was a 7.5 ran like a champ. hope the manual helps

I have the same model motor, Ted Williams , 217-59463 and was wondering, what is the point gap setting?. Would real like to get manual also if possible ,please.

Hey guys, I have Eska 4.5 hp Sears Ted Williams # 217-5946-3.

Has not run in yrs but want to try to get it going.
Compression is 100 after some spraying in the cylinder.

From the thread I gather 40:1 ratio
Gap .020

What spark plug is best?
What gear oil should be used?
Is there a site where part are sold, I may need pints and condensor ( assuming Tecumseh powerhead TEC 642-15a -- read from searching posts )

Can I get a manual also, as it seems to be available here.

looks like a '73. The 217. tells you it's a Tecumseh engine, Eska leg. Ratio's 24:1. Points at .020", plug at .030". Float is set with a 11/64" drill. Keep a good pump impeller in there, the motor needs it. What is it, just hard to start?
