I got a Ted Williams 9.9 Twin Cylinder from a guy with my boat. It runs until i go to put it into gear and then stalls out. I need to know how to change the lower end oil. Also how to adjust the carburetor to the air to fuel mix.

Re: Ted Williams 9.9 Twin Cylinder

First step: Tell us the model number. Without that, we won't know much about your outboard. It could be an Eska-built outboard or a Chrysler-built one. It'll be on a tag near the transom clamp area. If the tag is gone, then we'll need a photo or something.

Second step: If it dies when you put it in gear, odds are that it is only running on one cylinder. That generally means that one cylinder is not getting a good spark at the spark plug.

This is where it gets complicated. On some models, that's an easy fix. On other models, it's almost impossible to fix.

So, look for the model number and give it to us. Then, we'll be able to help you.
