There is a rigntone designed for teenagers that older people can not hear. This is so teenagers can hear their cell phone ring in class and not the teacher.

Ringtone

Now this is serious.... I can not hear it at all. It abrades my wife and drives the dog nuts too.... me nothing?

Okay try this experiment and have a younger person available to verify that it works.

Don't need to.

I can no longer hear the beeps from my digital watch or my microwave. I know they are there because Catzilla always reacted to them and my grandbuddys are always telling me, "Granpa your watch beeped."

Re: Teenage ringtone

I do not think we are deaf but it was designed so "older" people can not hear it. I guess I am in the "older" class :( however it will be a big class!!! ;)

Re: Teenage ringtone

I'm 45 and I can hear it. It's a very high pitch tone, it sounds alot like the noise you hear when your ears are ringing. So the next time you think your ears are ringing, look around and see if there is a kid around with a cell phone, and tell them to answer the dam thing. :D

Re: Teenage ringtone

Its not everyday I get to make people feel better so Im going to jump on the moment :)

Don't worry if you can't hear it!
I just had my hearing checked and thats the only thing working properly anymore and I couldn't hear it either. Neither could two (2 year old) cats sitting in the chair with me.
Until I turned the volume up more than normal then all three of us could hear it!
So relax and enjoy the sick joke!
I do think its a good one though :D

Digital watches and people who wear them but cant hear them! Ought to be a law agin thet! ;)

Drives me nuts! Just last night I was helping a friend set up a router table. After about 15 seconds of being annoyed I just gave him "THAT" look! No words exchanged. Then he said Oh my watch must be beeping again? Grrrr :)

Re: Teenage ringtone

Too many years working a mixing board. My high pitched hearing is shot! But when mixing sound for an audience, the first rule I learned was look at the age of your audience. If they are old, turn down the bass and boost the high end, because the bass will come through loud and clear, but the older folk need the high end cranked.

However, that mix will sound too tinny for a young audience who can better hear the high frequencies. That is why the young bucks like to boost the bass.

So, no, can't hear it! Saw the demonstration of this a couple days ago on TV.

Re: Teenage ringtone

That certainly is an annoying noise. Reminds me of the noise a TV makes when it's on, but not doing anything.

Re: Teenage ringtone

No problem here...and my hearing is terrible. Every time a doctor looks in my ear they say "wow, you must have had some bad infections" from all the scarring.

Makes my beagle growl, but that might just be because I put the laptop next to him. :D

Just barely can hear it. I have tinitus so the noise it makes is common to me, I hear it all the time.
