Does anyone know where I can get a code J sender kit for a Teleflex OB temp gauge? I bought the gauge off e-bay and it arrived w/o the kit. I can find places where I can order the sender itself. However, I am looking for the code J kit which includes several brackets for mounting.<br /><br />Any help would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks

'89 johnson 90hp. The gauge is a generic hot/cold not made specifically for any particular model. I am unsure what particular brackets would be required (if any at all) from the kit for mounting.

I don't see why you could not use a temp sender that screws into the head to sense the temp for the gauge. Why the bracket? Most teleflex gauges made for temp are compatible with most engine sending units... Such as this one:<br /><br /> web page<br /><br />Or here:<br /><br /> go2marine com

For some reason I didn't think my motor had a threaded hole in the head. I believe the motor has a temp gauge that is wired to an alarm. Is that what you are referring to? Can I just splice into that?

I know that my 91' 70 HP rude has a threaded hole for the purpose of adding a temp sending unit. Check it out on the back of the head by the spark plugs... And no, do not splice into the alarm sending unit..
