tell tale force

I just bought a boat with a 93 Johnson 90 V4 two stroke on it. When I had it running with the ear muffs on the tell tale didn't seem to squirt out as fast and as powerfull as my Yamaha 9.9 does. I figure the bigger motor would have a higher force tell tale. Is this something I should worry about? I'm waiting on my manual to be shipped so I was also wondering how hard it is to put in a new impellor in the Johnson 90? Thanks for any info.
