Temp shelter for construction

Our marina where we had planned to build our boat has just advised us that the shed is no longer available "AND" the price just doubled! *sigh* This busts our budget for accomodation. So, we're stuck with having to build a temporary structure, approx. 20'x34' as that's all the room we have after some landscaping. Anybody ever build a temp struture for their build or refit?

Just talked to the local bylaw officer and they need drawings and specifications for the temp structure permit. *sigh*

Building in the Great White North we'll have to put together a substantial structure to resist possible snow loads. A steep peak is essential. I'm looking at something like this.....

We've looked at most of the "portable shelter" RV and garage types. RV's aren't wide enough and double garages aren't high enough or long enough. Boat will be 30'5' long and a 11' beam. 12.5' from bottom of keel to top of cabin.

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated, especially photos.

Thnx Scaaty. Seen most of those. Don't have $4K to buy one. Total budget is about $2K, sorry forgot that point.

I know you have seen them everywhere in your area.
As I lived up the road from you in Winchester and Inkerman for two years.

Is it to be just temporary?
Maybe they lease or you could arrange to sell it after done too.

My long lost friend jeff use to build greenhouses the frames are just rolled metal stock and the covers are pretty easy to change

The places go in and out all the time so there should be a used market

Hey Jeeperman! Cool, do you remember the Inkerman Rockets? Didn't they win a Stanley Cup way back when? I grew up in Prescott.

Yup just temporary, hopefully less than 2 yrs to build the boat. Still looking at options but I'd rather not deal with a lease. Gonna do what tommays suggested and look for used.

I think you're going to have a hard time building anything with a budget of only 2K that can handle the winter. I can't imagine you were setup with the marina shed for $80/month for 2 years. Think about it this way: If you spend less than you were going to pay the marina, you're ahead, and it's convenient...
