Temp?

How can I check my temp gauge to make sure it's properly working? The needle is riding just below the red mark on the gauge. But when I pop the motor cover and check to see if anything is overheating, there is no signs. It's also riding high on my oil pressure? Could there just be a bad ground or something?

Thanks.

Re: Temp?

You can really tell just by looking that your engine is or is not overheating? How do you do that? Chances are there is something wrong. Disconnect the sender wire and measure the resistance. Your service manual has a temperature vs resistance chart.

Re: Temp?

Well I was just feeling the manifolds to see if they were to hot to touch. Is that not correct?

I really think and hope that it's my gauge cluster. When I hit the horn, my trim needle pegs down then when the horn is released it goes back to it's original posistion??
