I noticed lately at low RPM's my temperature will get to about 125-130. Around 3000-3500 RPM's I'm maxing at 150-155 degrees and thats after running for about 20-25 minutes. Oil pressure was showing 55-58 lbs? Am I running a little cool? Is this a concern. Engine is a 2008 4.3l TKS carbed. Thanks

Re: Temperature question

Doesn't sound like a concern if its running cooler at idle. Has the thermostat ever been changed? Has the water pump impeller been changed in the lower unit? If the T-stat was stuck open it would run cooler all the time.

Re: Temperature question

Your thermostat should keep your engine temperature stable independent of the RPM. So if you are running 155 or so under load and the temperature is stable at that level and the engine cools off when you return to idle it sounds like it may be staying open longer than it should. You might check the thermostat to see if it is functioning properly.
