Re: Tempest

I've been watching your other thread...
I learn alot also, from the info that Dhadley posts, and unless I have something to add, I don't step on his threads.
As for the Turbo II, I don't think it will give as good of numbers as a new Turbo 1, and in a high-lifting situation, I don't think it will touch a Turbo Lightning TXP, which I will have some numbers on shortly, and be better able to tell you how the TXP will compare to a Tempest of which I have some decent data on.

Re: Tempest

Yea, run's right there with a Turbo1 until ya raise it a bit, then the Tempest vents and the Turbo doesn't.
Merc props are also known to come out of the box in need of a prop shop...Many of their High perf. props have been checked by a few people in the business, and have confirmed that some are as much as 2" different in pitch (Blades on the same prop). Also, they have just about priced themselves out of the prop market, as props are being manufactured now, that are the same quality, better results and half the price.

Re: Tempest

I haven't run the TXP yet, but hope to in the next couple of days.
The Tempest is a Good prop..my point is that there are better props out there.
And remember, one prop might suit one application better than another...to say a Tempest will fix every boat out there, or make an E-Tec run better is not the case. Will it make it run better than a stock aluminum??? I bet it would.
