Test driving a boat

Hey Everybody,

Does anyone know if there is a legal way to test drive an unlicensed boat in the state of washington? Our temporary trip permits are for highway use only.

You would need to call your state authority.

My answer would be to just do it and then explain to the patrol in if you get pulled over. We just bought a jetski this weekend that had expired tags, did the test drive and used it for the weekend figuring that the patrol would have mercy on a weekend when there was no way to purchase new tags.
