Test proceedures

Anyone tell me how to double check power pack, stator, charge coils, coils, etc. on Evinrude 50hp two cylinder?<br />Have no spark and previous tests seem to indicate all is ok.... obviously something isn't.

Hey BigTW, don't know what the previous "tests" were but just off the cuff, have you tried pulling the big red harness connector on the engine apart and seeing if that gave you spark?<br /><br />What I'm looking at is taking the ignition and kill switch out of the circuit. Pulling the red connector apart does this.

Thanks for the reply. Have pulled the plug and jumped the solenoid ....no spark. Got another power pack and used it ....no spark. Test both with an ohm meter and they both test the same. Replaced the rectifier ... no spark. Used an ohm meter to test the coil charging unit .... tests good, no grounding. Tested each coil itself, one test @2.14 ohms, the other a little higher ... goes from 2, something up to 3.16ohms. Have timeing light on the plugs to test for spark, have also pulled plugs and tested to ground ...no spark. Was going to pull the flywheel, but the nut is real frozen, and don't have an impact wrench. <br />I'm stumped.
