And this is how I want you to activate the starter. MAKE VERY SURE you jump to the solenoid nut that DOES NOT go to the safety switch!!!! (The picture might be reversed).

I tested the coil and it was firing until the wire pulled out of it and it fell to the floor cracking it. I tried to put the wire back in the coil but could only get weak fire. At least I know the problem is/was not the coil. What next? The power pack? I suppose it is'nt possible to test the power pack without a good coil, right? I am getting a new coil.
F R, I activated the starter by jumping the two large terminals on the solenoid. The coil sparked before I activated the starter when I attached the ignition jumper.
I've located a control box with harness, a power pack & coil which I'm buying but it'll be next week before I get them. Should I just hold off until I get the new parts?
