testing fuel line

I'm testing the fuel line to see if the problem I'm having with getting my motor to stay running is the problem. When i pump up the bulb until it is stiff and then poke the ball seal in the connector (to the motor-female), should i be getting a good stream of fuel out of the line when I do this?

What you should get is a spit. Watch your eyes!

Some times you will not get a spit, this does not mean the line is bad. Depress the ball and pump the bulb, you should get flow.

The bulb should flow all fuel possible, it is picking up fuel from the tank, what else can it do?
