I'm trying to diagnose a 1988 DT200 with no charge that I beleive may be a problem with the rectifier. The manual I have says that you need to test all combinations of the rectifier wiring leads with a powered test light. I was wondering if I could accomplish the same thing by just using an ohm meter? I assume I should show high resistance in one direction and low resistance in the other direction?

Also, is there any way to test the battery charging coils? Can I simply hook a meter set on AC volts to the yellow and red leads from the stator and measure AC voltage?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
