I have a 1996 75HP Force outboard, I just had the power head completely rebuilt, and getting ready to take it out for the first time this weekend.<br />I'd like to know if there is a way to test the overheat alarm to make sure its working properly before I take the boat out, is there a way to do this?

Re: Testing Temp Alarm?

I am by no way a pro. but I tested mine by removing it from the block an put it in a pot of water on the stove. brought up the water temp and measured for continuity with a ohmmeter and checked the water temp at that switching point... That exact temp? Can't recall sorry...but it was fairly consistant , when i pulled the sensor out and cooled it in a cup od cooler water and repeated. hope that helps

as for the buzzer.. i grounded the sending wire from the (sender) to the block with the ignition on and the buzzer would sound.
