I would like to publicly thank D. Hayes, Jr., member dh4winn79 for the time and effort that he took to draw up the plans for an outboard motor stand. I found the plans on another site and just finished building one. The plans are really well done. I cut everything exactly to his design, trusting on faith that everything would line up. He got it all perfect. About the only nit I could pick with the plans is that he should have specified all joints to be glued as well as screwed. Those of us used to building such things would glue and screw as second nature, but for the inexperienced it might make a difference.

Thank you again Mr. Hayes for your efforts. They are appreciated.

Best Wishes,
Jim

Re: Thank You to D. Hayes

I have a Whaler and had been on the Whaler board. Somebody there pointed it out. When I found out that the author of the plans was on iboats.com I wanted to come over here and thank him. I hadn't been aware of iBoats previously.

I second that thank you. I built one yesterday for my 1972 65 horsepower Evinrude. Sure is a lot easier to move around now.

Re: Thank You to D. Hayes

agreed. Thank you sir for taking the time to do so much work and put together something so perfect.

I built mine up last week in 2 hours.

Only gripe i have is i wish the stand was a couple inches taller. The skeg is very close to the ground and i just would feel saver if it was a little higher off the ground.
I can always take the casters off and add a 2x4 on each side of the legs. That would add a couple inches. Easy to do.

I'm sure D. Hayes is appreciative. He hasn't been here in over two years and this topic is close to six years old. Please do no reply to topics older than 90 days.
