Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about replacing carpet in a boat. I finished the bow and sides of my 18' fishing boat today and it looks great!

Hmmmm.... that bow looks very similar to my Starcraft SuperSport. Am I close?

Your carpet job looks great. Did you remove the rub rails from the sides (isn't it riveted?) Is that the "astroturf" type carpet? I'm thinking that's the route I need to take on my boat after seeing those pictures.

It's actually a Bluefin Deep V. Yep, the rub rails came off, I just drilled the tops of the rivets off, pulled up the old carpet and sanded the old glue off with a 3M sandblasting wheel. The carpet is indoor/outdoor carpet I got at the local hardware (atroturf like). My boat is almost the same length as yours, Bluefin may have had the same design as the Starcraft.
