Re: Thanks for the help II.

I disagree, silly me…

But when you receive help and find the solution, you should go back to Your original thread and Post what the solution was to the problem.

This will allow others who follow the thread to know the problem was solved and what the solution was so they to can learn. It also saves the “PROs” time by not having to respond to a problem that has been solved.

By posting in a new thread like this, things become fragmented and hard to follow.

The original Thread is also the appropriate place to say thank you for the help as anyone who suggest a possible solution to your problem gets Great Satisfaction in knowing they were able to help someone else out.

No offence JB, you’ve helped so many out, including myself, but I think it’s important people don’t do the “Hit and Run” as soon as there problem is solved, but rather post in the original thread so all know the problem was solved and can learn from what the solution was.

Well, beyond just helping me get the ole' '65 40 running perfectly, I constantly learn a ton from Paul Moir, MCM, rodbolt, byacey, Solittle, and a host of others .. better than going to OMC school. thanks, guys!

Re: Thanks for the help II.

My first post to this forum was trying to identify an old motor I had been given, and am trying to restore. tashasdaddy & Paul Moir both helped me almost immediately, telling me the year, #HP, and type of plugs to use. This gave me the info I need to find parts etc. I'm really glad I found this site!
amandabfl

Re: Thanks for the help II.

I'm restoring a 1955 Evinrude outboard, need a few body parts like an access plate that's missing. I posted a question early in the morning and by 1:00 p.m. I was ordering the parts I needed! MCM and Alden both recommended twincityoutboards, and sure enough they had just what I need! THANKS!
amandabfl

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all those who replied to my questions this year. I want to especially thank the veteran techs here on the board who helped me maximize my Johnson Outboard experience.
