Laddies & Laotzu(previous post)

Thanx it's good to know that others are willing to share their knowledge with us 'apprentices'.

I dare say this won't be the last time I visit iboats.

Re: Thanks for the help.

Just a footnote;
The parts I required were bought from the USA. It was cheaper and the delivery quicker than here in the UK..........Why is that???

Thanks to: Clams Canino, Laddies and Ed Mc. for your help on figuring out what year m Merc 1000 was (down to the exact year without even a serial number plate to go off of!) as well as telling me how to fix stripped spark plug threads. Thanks guys!

Re: Thanks for the help.

Thanks to Clams and the other crew, their instructions for troubleshooting the CDI switchbox allowed me to quickly and cheaply diagnose and repair the problem with my 72 merc 650.

I am so excited and grateful, you can't imagine!

-E

Re: Thanks for the help.

thanks murrayw91, chinese walker, and Eric B. I had multiple problems causing water not to cool my 9.8 mercury, Eric B, and Murray knew my specific problem while chinese walker told me the easiest way to diagnose it, great work all you guys
-Justin

Re: Thanks for the help.

Thanks to myoutboards, he knew exactly what was wrong and told me how to fix it. I don't know how he knew exactly what the problem was with all the possibilities it could have been. Bridged the two wires he said and my 85hp mercury fired right up, saved me a ton of money on putting in a new trigger, the man knows his stuff
-Justin
