Re: Thanks for the help.

UPDATE:

Well I want to thank everyone that has helped me. That includes eurolarva, and JB. I have discovered that I have:

1965 West Bend 50hp
Model: 50561
Serial: 4002

I originaly thought it was an newer motor because of the motor cover having the Chrysler Star on it and saying it was a 45hp. Then I found the ID Plate and learned what I know now. One of those things is that the motor cover I have isn't the original(wish I knew that in the first place!). I also found a web site that helped once I got the motor numbers

www.marineengine.com/manuals/chrysler_outboards

I am sure we will be posting soon again, so far I know I need a starter and I have to completely wire the hole motor. All of the harness and conrol wireing is gone. I have found a Service manual but I still need a parts and wiring manuals.

Mike M.

I want to thank you ALL for the wonderful information I get every time I log in. I always learn something, and take away more than I can possibly give. And theres a good chance we stop the pulling of the "Pivot Pin" to change the gear oil in the old Force's in our lifetime! Robby :D

Thanks to roscoe, sam6868, and Robby6950 for helping with my 1985 Force 125 that was cutting out. Robby6950 was correct in identifying the stator problem. When I took it off, it looked as if it has been in a small fire! Put new one on and had a terrific day on the water today!! :)
Thanks guys, you're absolutely the best for taking time to help us out.
Pesky1

I have asked 5 or more questions on this forum and had excellent help. I am new to force engines and in my experience they make me won't to stick a rusty clam fork in my ear!! Roscoe has been of particular help to me and to him I say thank you! If I missed other names I am truly sorry, Thank you for the help you guys are excellent, I have started cruising the subjects to see if I may lend some experience or answers but you guys beat me to it and know your sh..! Thank you again...Stuart

Thanks to RRitt I'm back in the water!!

Thanks again for the help! I pulled the motor apart (again) and sure enough there was a piece of magnet that was lodging itself between the armature and the housing. cleaned it up and it works like new!!! Just in time to hit the lake for some fishing.
