First time post here on Iboaters. So as a first post I believe its only fitting to say THANKS to all the people who make this such a great forum. I have been reading post after post about rotten decks and how to fix. Luckly my stringers are good except for the one where the ski locker was once located (PO redid the floor once before and just filled it in and glassed over the top). All of my questions I have had to date have been answered in a post somewhere.

So Thanks again!

Re: Thanks...

Welcome to Iboats Skunk...
If you have read alot of these forums... most of the PO's say they did a complete floor replacement... and most of these boats ended up getting core sampled and found out that the floor was not done correctly...
Mine looked solid and sounded like it too... the stringers were ok (they were a 2x10) but there was water under and penetrated in the foam...
if i didnt start the tear down and left it like that... i would have been SoL 2-6 years down the road when my floor started getting soft. just my 2 cents.
once again welcome

Ditto ^^^ What have you done to confirm that the Stringers and Transom are Good to Go? Have you taken core samples like most of the threads recommend doing? If not you cannot be 100% certain that your boat is sound. As 74B says, Looks and Sounds usually are deceiving. Core Samples don't lie.

Core samples have been done on the stringers. They looked good. But I still need to do them on the transom - crossing my fingers. Foam is pretty much all out due to me not liking the way it looked. No water log.
