Not familiar with the 9.8 4 stroke motors... do they share any major components (block, crank, rods, etc) as any of the slightly larger 9.9 motors? Are they the same as the 8HP motors or any others?
As always, the motors are made in families. The 2.5 and 3.5 are identical except for the carb. Same for the 4/5/6. Also the 8/9.8. Only difference is the carb. Depending on version, the 9.9 and 15 are similar as well. The new 9.9/15/20e are identical except for flow restrictor and ECU.
