One thing they did know was abusive government. They knew every intimate detail. They were scholars in all things government and were expert statesmen in political execution. With all the validity that is due they knew how to make a government.
....

Could I just point out that this was the first government any of them had ever made...they were kind of making it up as they went along.

One thing above all others that they feared, that they abhored, harped on, and did all they could do to prevent a government that was allowed to do more than they originally intended.
...

I would say "prevent a government that was allowed to do more than the will of the people."

"The people" can be wrong in the heat of the moment.

That's why they made us a republic rather than a democracy.

i travel on airplanes quite a bit, and the security regulations are not that bad, prior to 9-11 i always thought they were very very lax.

they do not strip search people, only those that fail the metal detector and can not find the metal item.

In the last 4 years of travel I have never been strip searched, i have been wanded, after failing the 2nd time through, because i forgot something.

My bag does get randomly searched, but they tell me that before i give them the bag.

My phone is NOT tapped, those are only overseas calls and only for and from certain people.

The slate 10 was just lame, just moaning about why the govt wont tell them about the latest information they have.

I do not understand the pity for the guantanemo detainees, the next time people will think twice about taking up arms against the US.

That says a lot about them.
I understand you possibly are in favor of a flexible Constitution or that the framers had in mind a flexible Constitution.
I can't understand how anyone would think they were flexible about having a large powerful government.

Another way to look at is this.
If you don't have anything to hide, why worry about it.

I don't have a gun, why worry about it.
I don't own a newspaper, why worry about it.
I make enough money, why worry about it.
I don't go to church, why worry about it.
Most people don't vote, lets do away with it.

I need something to go on record here:

I am taking no responsibility for that ugly looking post up there. I tried and tried on a slow connection to fix it and just can't :| If anybody knows what's wrong with the quote code thing, a heads up would be appreciated. I do the process the same way every time and I can't make that one work.

I don’t know I think it looks kinda cool, so retro, reminds me of some old sixty’s movies where the private eye goes in and looks over some old computer cards, from an old Univac that took up about half a block of space in some old warehouse.d:)

Oh I get your point and agree.
Which is why I am a member of Tacoma Rifle club.
Why I'm a member of the ARRL, NRA, several others and give money to churches or others that I "think" are doing good.
And why I do vote :)

Oh don't forget "DAMM"
Drunks Against Mad Mothers !! 8)
That was a joke people!
