This was really funny later. I had a customer come in, his boat quit running, would i come take a look?
Sure, my partner was watching the shop, so i had him drive his truck to the lake = 1/2 mile. I backed the truck so the boats in the lake. i get into the boat. Its about a foot to close to shore to attempt to start, so i tell the guy to get in, and let the truck roll back 1 foot. He gets in, and rolls the truck backwards about 8 feet. It's now in the water up to the front tires and the transom on the boat is submerged. I'm screaming pull it forward before it does any serious damage. He starts the truck, pulls it almost out of the water, stalls it and instead of stepping on the brakes he hits the clutch. We roll backwards into the lake. The truck ends up 30 feet from the ramp out in the lake. The water is over the hood, about 1/4 up the windshield. The boat is flosting with the trailer still attached. I'm standing in the boat pissed off because i know i'm gonna get wet and this guy totally freaks out about drownding. I get out of the boat, walk to the truck, stand at the open window and point out to him that he can walk back to shore. He never stops screaming about not being able to swim and that he is going to drown as i reach back and grab a life vest as it floats by out of the back of the truck, stuff it in his arms, open the door and drag him to shore. Now i have to walk back to my truck 1/2 mile away, and drive to the shop, get the shop truck 3/4 ton 4x4 and a bunch of rope. Then I drove back to the lake, waded out to the truck and tied a rope to it and drug the truck and boat out of the lake and back to town. Oh by the way, the problem with the boat was that he didn't clean his old fuel tank, and it was full of water. Shop tank and it ran fine after draining the carb.

Haha, at least the truck's engine wasn't running when it hit the lake. Sounds like quite a day.
Eric
