Re: The Boat Ramp Follies, for new boat rampers

What a great post!!! Before you buy a boat it should be the law that everyone take some kind of course on how to properly launch a boat. I have seen boats sink due to not checking if the drain plug is installed, boats that when started take off by themselves when started up causing severe damage to boat, trailer, and tow vehicle . I can't count the times that it has taken over 30 minutes to launch while ignorant people decide to carry on a extensive conversation right at the ramp blocking the rest of us from doing our thing!!!! It only get's worse in the summer when there's more weekend warriors that don't know a thing about launching or retrieving a boat. Dad's showing off to junior and the little woman how macho they are with a boat that they don't properly know how to operate

a disaster in the making. Being in Southern California these people take over every body of water causing accident's and even death's every year!!! Truly to fish on these lakes with the crowded idiot's isn't worth it. I like to set up a lounge chair in the area next to the ramp and just watch the show. Keep it COOL LDJ
