It's one thing for an artist, or anyone, to express an opinion when asked for it, but it's another thing entirely to go to a foreign country, get up on a stage, and run your own country down. No one asked that bimbo for her political opinion to begin with, and to finish it off, her politcal opinion is just as coarse as any other opinion she might have---other than whether a particular song sounds better with a few more Diminished Sevenths and a couple of Ninths thrown in.

If she's going to get on stage and offer unsolicited political commentary, then she's better get used to the idea of being held accountable for what she says. And that included boycotts of her music, or whatever other public pressure might be applied.

Off the mark, sir. If the folks from Hollyweird and wherever think that they should be able to express opinions and be immune to negative reactions, that just further illustrates their inability to connect with reality. What is it about the entertainment industry that induces psychosis?

If I stand in your face and tell you something not nice about your wife, you'd just stand there, right? NO?? Okay then...so Alec Baldwin could do the same thing, and you'd just stand there and tell him how much you enjoyed his last movie?

No, no dogsdad... you have it all wrong!

Anyone can get up and say WHATEVER they want and YOU are REQUIRED to go buy their record! If you don't, than you are anti-american.
Just ask PW or Darth.
In fact, I am going to cut an album that says their mothers are ugly and they HAVE to buy it. If they don't, they're unamerican.

Often when we speak we send many messages. The implication is not nearly as important and the inference.

Hows this for some hollyweird psychosis?

This one is from Arnold.
Schwarzenegger gave in 1975 while making the film “Pumping Iron."

He is quoted as saying he wished he could have an experience "like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium. And have all those people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say."
Asked who his heroes are, he answered, "I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it."

This one is from president Reagan.

Killer Trees.
After opining in August 1980 "trees cause more pollution than automobiles do," Reagan arrived at a campaign rally to find a tree decorated with this sign: "Chop me down before I kill again."

The point is any body can say stupid things at any time. But If they are saying it against the current president, the right wing pundits and the right wing radio get into the mix and want to boycott somebody for stating their opinion.

Very weak argument. Look up the word psychosis. I suggest learning to use a dictionary first.

Re: The Chicks

Psychosis is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state in which thought and perception are severely impaired. Persons experiencing a psychotic episode may experience hallucinations, hold delusional beliefs (e.g., grandiose or paranoid delusions), demonstrate personality changes and exhibit disorganized thinking (see thought disorder). This is often accompanied by lack of insight into the unusual or bizarre nature of such behavior, difficulties with social interaction and impairments in carrying out the activities of daily living. A psychotic episode is often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality".

I believe that the generic/delusional term would apply.
